What we have done so far

Do you want to know more about what we have done so far? Read more about some of our projects below!

Biogas & compost from cassava waste

For a female-led attieké cooperative, LONO is installing a digestor to convert the waste from the transformation process, into compost and cooking gas. This project is funded by Nitidae and the regional administration of Mé.

Composting household waste

As part of the social responsibility policy of a large banana producer, a composter Kubeko is used to treat the organic fraction of the waste produced by the households on the site. This way, Kubeko contributes to waste management and circular economy.

Feasibility study for palm waste

Lots of waste is available in the palm (oil) sector. The different types of waste can be used for different purposes. LONO has done a feasibility for a palm processing factory, to support them to make the most  of their waste.

Impact assessment

Fifteen mango farmers started using KubeKo in 2019. To ensure a positive impact, LONO provides training sessions on how to use KubeKo and how best to apply compost.

Laboratory testing of biofuel production

In close collaboration with the polytechnic university of Yamoussoukro (INP-HB), LONO studies and tests opportunities for biofuel production. Researching different types of locally available feedstock, we explore the best waste-to-energy solutions.
